Welcome to Café des Jardins, a charming restaurant nestled at the gateway of the enchanting Portes des Iris garden in Vullierens, Switzerland. This hidden gem offers not just a meal but a delightful dining experience surrounded by natural beauty, making it an ideal spot for gathering with friends and family.
As I embarked on this culinary journey, I was captivated by the inviting ambiance. The terrace allows patrons to soak in the breathtaking views, especially during the blooming seasons. Upon arrival, I was delighted to discover a variety of drink options, catering to different dietary preferences, including almond and soy milk for coffee aficionados. The cappuccino I enjoyed boasted a perfectly velvety foam that warmed my spirits, even if the coffee itself was merely pleasant, offering a comforting start to my visit.
The food served at Café des Jardins is genuinely reflective of its commitment to quality, albeit with room for refinement. The blackcurrant tartlet was enjoyable, featuring a balanced crust that, while pleasant, could benefit from a bit more crispiness and a more pronounced berry flavor. Yet, it's the warmth of the service and the vibrant atmosphere that truly elevate this experience. Customers rave about the friendly staff, ready to cater to your needs, enhancing the sense of community within the café.
Highlighting the culinary offerings, diners have praised dishes from salads to exquisite tartares, reflecting diverse tastes and preferences. The restaurant's capacity to accommodate large groups speaks to its popularity, and the staff's attentiveness, even during busy periods, is commendable. A simple lunch can easily transform into a leisurely afternoon as you explore the art and nature surrounding the café, creating lasting memories.
Whether you're seeking a casual coffee break or a full dining experience, Café des Jardins invites you to indulge in its culinary delights amidst a beautiful setting. I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Café des Jardins at the entrance gate of the Portes des Iris garden at the castle of Vullierens, canton of Vaud, Switzerland. I stopped by for a cappuccino and was pleased to see they offer almond and soy milk options, in addition to regular milk. The cappuccino was good, with a nicely whipped, velvety foam. The coffee itself was decent — not outstanding, but pleasant. I also tried the blackcurrant tartlet. It was good — not exceptional, but enjoyable. The crust wasn’t too soft, though I would have preferred it slightly crispier and with a stronger berry flavor. Service was very friendly, and the location is absolutely magical, especially during blooming seasons. A lovely spot to stop and enjoy the surroundings.

We all ordered salads which were very tasty and served in a timely matter. Friendly service. They were very busy when we had lunch there today. Ended with coffee and tea. Overall a good experience .
